No on-call, paid holidays and day shift only Southlake Orthopaedics, a premier Orthopaedic practice with two Birmingham locations, is looking for a Part Time MRI Technologist to join our team. The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as directed by Southlake providers. The MRI Technologist must have a sound knowledge of human anatomy and MRI safety procedures. Responsibilities Responsible for the care of patients of all ages; greet and thoroughly explain the examination. Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination (i.e. pain, claustrophobia, metallic objects, etc). Prepare patients for MRI procedure by positioning them in such a way that causes the least discomfort, administering contrast (when applicable); instruct patient about how to position their body appropriately. Obtain high quality, diagnostic images of the anatomy requested by the physician using appropriate safety precautions. Responsible for proper safety precautions for MRI Magnet for all patients and office staff. Maintain the equipment in good operating order, demonstrating proper infection control practices. Maintain knowledge of the anatomical views according to each physicians' preference Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
