Materials Specialist IHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Materials Specialist I in our Fullerton, California location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. This is an opportunity to grow your career at a large, international aerospace company.Key Responsibilities:Moving raw materials throughout the manufacturing process as needed to maintain production schedules.Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materialsPackage, stage, and ship finished goods. When necessary, expedite critical shipmentsDemonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement daily by your actionsTake the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/ManagerPerform physical counts of products/components in the manufacturing process or in storage as needed to assist in inventory audits.Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliersComply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisorAble to work with minimum or no supervisionPractice 5s standards and keep area clean dailyPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)Must be able to stand for long periods of timeRequires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.Requires bending, squatting, reaching.QualificationsBasic Requirements:High school diploma or GED preferred.Minimum 1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receivingEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
