Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Clinical Coordinator (RN) Med/Surg to join their team. This role involves supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the Med/Surg unit ensuring high standards of patient care and managing team resources. The Clinical Coordinator will have a strong Med/Surg background and bring leadership skills to support the nursing staff effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care Coordination: Oversee and coordinate patient care within the Med/Surg unit ensuring that care meets established standards.

  • Team Leadership: Serve as a leader within the unit providing support and guidance to nursing staff and ensuring effective resource allocation.

  • Compliance & Training: Complete deescalation training within 90 days of hire. Ensure team members are compliant with required certifications and standards.

  • Clinical Skills: Monitor patient progress communicate with physicians and families and assist in escalated situations as needed.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within the first 30 days of hire.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within the first 12 months of hire.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be obtained within the first 12 months of hire.
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) to be obtained within two years of hire.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
    • At least 2 years of charge nurse or supervisory experience (preferred).
