This position directly supervises the full-time and part-time nursing faculty, the manager of simulation labs, and program support specialists. This position reports directly to the Dean, Nursing and Health Sciences.Administer, develop and oversee all nursing programs.Recruit, hire, supervise and evaluate all part-time nursing faculty.Supervise and evaluate full-time nursing faculty.Oversee the assignment of didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching loads, for all nursing faculty, for submission to the Dean for approval.Manage faculty committee assignments and coordinate request to the Committee on Committees.Supervise work assignments for the Manager of Simulation, Laboratory Learning, and Nursing Program Support Specialists and Nursing Program Chair(s) (ADN and CNA programs).In collaboration with the Nursing Program Participation Committee, oversee the nursing student admission and applicant selection process.Manage budgets and capital acquisitions for nursing programs.Lead nursing program approval and accreditation processes.Oversee the procurement, evaluation, and maintenance of clinical sites for all nursing programs.Represent the college and its nursing programs with external agencies and groups.Lead nursing faculty to pursue appropriate grant funding and professional development opportunities.Oversee curriculum implementation, nursing student progress, and student performance issues.Oversee procurement and maintenance of clinical affiliation agreements and ensure nursing faculty and student compliance with placement requirements.Evaluate nursing programs, goals and outcomes to support continuous improvement.Prepare annual reports to regulatory and accrediting agencies, lead preparation of accreditation self-study documents and coordinate site visits.Promote departmental efficiency, operational effectiveness, and optimal use of resources.Oversee division planning and execution of the bi-annual nursing pinning ceremony.Chair the Nursing Full Council and Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.Keep the Dean informed of student and faculty needs, issues, and concerns in a timely manner; provide administrative discipline and conflict resolution, under the Dean's direction.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean.Qualifications:Education:Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.Current active license as Registered Nurse in Illinois or license-eligible required.Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.Additional coursework or advanced degree in education, health science, or related discipline preferred.Experience:At least 5 years of experience as RN; 2 years' experience as a nursing educator required.At least 2 years administrative/management experience in an educational setting and knowledge of trends and developments in nursing education required.Previous experience as program director/coordinator/chair required; knowledge or experience with a nursing program accreditation process (ACEN preferred) required; knowledge or experience with self-study preparation required; ability to guide faculty through accreditation process required.Office environment.This position requires a background check and drug screen.Starting pay for this position begins at $112,170. Compensation above the minimum may be considered based on qualifications and experience, with a maximum offer of $143,017.Competitive starting salaries are dependent on education and experience.
