Partners with service line's physician & administrative leadership, in overall strategic planning, marketing, customer service, quality programs, outcomes reporting, finances, incentive management, and business growth for service line operations. The Senior Manager, Advanced Practitioners understands the importance of their service line to SLPG and facilitates a successful relationship in terms of clinical and quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and management of expenses/revenues. Responsible for the overall day-to day service line operations, ensuring high quality standard of care is delivered and strategic goals are achieved, in a fiscally responsible manner. In addition to the Senior Manager, Advanced Practitioners position, he/she is responsible for providing clinical services to the service line as defined in the Advanced Practitioner job description.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Partners with administrative and physician leadership, formulating service line strategy, and then accomplishing the goals and initiatives of the department.Serve as a mentor and resource for service-line's APs, regarding clinical, professional, and administrative leadership development.Responsible for the day to day operations of the service line, in reference to the advance practitioner providers.Responsible for AP time tracking, and associated payroll activities. Ensures efficient use of clinical resources, within budget parameters, while maintaining standards of patient careParticipates in development and monitoring of service line's budget, in reference to the AP providers. Maintains AP clinical operations within budgetary limits.In conjunction with physician leadership and administration, is responsible for advance practitioner personnel matters & decisions, both internal and external, to the department. (i.e. formal counseling for disciplinary reasons)Identifies needs and required support for the APs within the department. Assists with development of programs or services, to meet those needs.Resource for staff and physicians, in reference to scope of practice, the collaborative multidisciplinary care model, and the job role of the advance practitionerRecruitment and hiring of service line's advanced practitionersDevelops and ensures APs successfully complete service line's formal and documented AP onboarding and orientation program.Facilitates and ensures completion of required AP educational activities and requirementsAssist with coordination of AP students being assigned, and successfully completing clinical rotations with service-line and/or provider group.Oversight and approval, in collaboration with physician leadership, of the service-line's AP credentialing and privileging processes and expectationsCompletes, with physician leadership, AP's OPPEs, and when needed, FPPEs.Partners with recruitment, human resources, and central verification office, ensuring all hired APs are transitioned efficiently and successfully to active employment status.Ensure APs are enrolled in provider groups & healthcare payors. Ensure APs have been set-up correctly in the electronic health record, for the reimbursement of their professional services providedApprove service line's AP CME requests, after ensuring topics are clinically relevant and allocated time is being used appropriatelyParticipates and contributes to service line operations, clinical review/development, and performance improvement/quality committees and/or meetingsFacilitates and/or participates in provider group, service-line, hospital, and/or unit operational and clinical committee meetingsEnsures monthly rounding, and annual performance evaluations completed on all APsAll duties, responsibilities, and functions of the Advance Practitioner job descriptionOther related duties, as assignedPhysical and Sensory Requirements:Sit up to 3-5 hours per day; 1-2 hours at a time.Stand for up to 3-5 hours per day; 2 hours at a time.Walk 1 hour per day.Frequently lifting, carrying and pushing objects up to 10 pounds.Rarely lifting, carrying and pushing objects up to 75 pounds.Frequently stooping and bending.Frequently reaching above shoulder level.Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch.Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies.Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision.Must be able to speak as it relates to normal conversation and projection as it relates to lectures and presentations.Education:Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Medical Physician Assistant, or Osteopathic Physician Assistant with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey. Physician Assistants must also have a current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician AssistantsTraining and Experience:3 years experience in AP leadership
