This position ensures that floor care services are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and client expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, train, and schedule floor care staff; assign daily and weekly tasks and monitor work performance.Oversee and perform floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, recoating, and carpet extraction.Ensure the safe and proper use of all floor care equipment and chemicals.Develop and maintain detailed floor care schedules and preventive maintenance plans.Inspect work areas for quality, safety, and adherence to cleaning standards.Maintain accurate records of staff time, work completion, equipment logs, and supply inventory.Order and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment parts.Enforce OSHA, facility safety, and infection control standards; conduct team safety training as required.Communicate effectively with facility management, maintenance, and housekeeping teams.Lead by example by performing floor care tasks as needed to meet operational goals.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.Minimum of 23 years of floor care experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.Demonstrated proficiency in floor maintenance techniques (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, etc.).Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and operate floor care equipment safely.Ability to read and follow safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical handling procedures.Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.Preferred QualificationsExperience with various flooring types (VCT, terrazzo, rubber, carpet, epoxy).Previous experience in healthcare, educational, or commercial facilities.Working ConditionsOn-site in a commercial or institutional facility.Exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet surfaces, and floor care equipment noise.May involve early morning, evening, or weekend work depending on scheduling needs.Performance MetricsQuality and consistency of floor appearance.Completion of maintenance schedules on time.Safety compliance and incident reduction.Efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.Team performance and attendance.Why You'll Thrive Here:At ServiceMaster Clean, we believe that great leaders inspire great teams.
