GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for enabling the continued growth of the Company through effective management and deployment of technology. The IT Director will be an integral part of the management team and is expected to understand both the business and technology requirements of the company and industry.
This position requires a hands-on leader of company-wide IT activities, including business applications (SAP ECC 6), re-engineering business processes through technology, infrastructure, networks, telecommunications, security, disaster recovery and overall IT support. Oversee new application technology (SAP upgrade to S4/Hana) and infrastructure technology initiatives including; software development, packaged software deployment, and capital investment priorities. This position will be accountable for a coordinated approach to planning, budgeting, developing, leading, and implementing the organizations information technology (IT) and digital technology efforts to ensure that long term and short term goals for the company are met.
This position will lead a medium sized team of experienced Enterprise Business application and IT infrastructure support resources. In addition, this position will manage outside managed services provider relationships for both applications and infrastructure services.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Responsible for long term company-wide information needs by developing an overall strategy for technology investments including; business applications, hardware/software acquisition, integration, digital / mobile, and third party service investments.
- Hires, manages, coaches, and develops a high-performance team (internal resources and external managed service providers). Works closely with senior management and peer-level executives throughout the organization.
- Responsible for managing the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various ERP (SAP), eCommerce, CRM, and other related business systems and databases
- Responsible for managing new and existing business systems and IT infrastructure capabilities for optimal use including training on systems for relevant end users
- Evaluate use of existing and new company-wide technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of IT delivery capabilities.
- Work with external customers and the operations executive team members to establish short and long term strategic objectives to achieve targeted growth projections and customer service expectations.

- Develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and information technology.
- Prepare IT objectives and budgets to facilitate the orderly, efficient and cost effective use of information technology throughout the company.
- Review and approve major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment. Lead contract negotiations with outside technology providers.
- Ensure the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
- Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all IT related PCI and PII compliance procedures and plans.
- Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in developing and executing information systems plans to ensure management information systems provide superior internal and external customer service.
- Experience with implementing and supporting major application systems(SAP ERP experience preferred) in the industrial equipment industry environment. Understanding and experience with technologies such as:
- ERP (SAP)
- CRM
- eCommerce applications
- Bar coding and data collection systems
- Engineering systems
- Experience overseeing core customer facing (in support of eCommerce customer service requirements) business applications teams, IT infrastructure teams, IT support teams (customer service focus) and software package implementation teams.
- Experience supporting a global business.
- Experience and knowledge with IT vendor contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings and complex problem solving activities.
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas: IT governance processes; capital planning and ROI analysis;business process analysis; business application software acquisition and implementation; information architecture and management; infrastructure and information security, privacy, and business continuity; IT operations (infrastructure and applications); and outsourcing.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Business or comparable direct work experience.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, inclusive of 4+ years in an IT management position.
- Have a strong business orientation, managing IT, in a manufacturing environment.
- A business person’s perspective and the ability to manage issues rather than tasks within the general framework of a business plan which calls for continued and profitable growth.
- Successful record of effectively managing and implementing cost effective software applications, enhancements, system conversions, hardware upgrades and technology integration.
- Proven experience to lead, create vision, influence, and motivate a variety of stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial management style that combines a strategic, forward-looking view of Internet media; a pragmatic assessment of prioritized resource deployment and a practical ability to work across divisions to implement and prioritize business efforts.
- Possess project management skills to plan and execute goals within specific timeframes, budgets and can balance and prioritize numerous competing objectives.
- Strong technical and business acumen.
- Ability to make high-level decisions.

- Superior facilitation and communication skills – both verbal and written.
