Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the construction of ground-up grocery store projects in the Dallas area. The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience managing the complete lifecycle of grocery store builds, from site preparation to final inspection. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the construction process, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead the on-site construction team to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans as necessary to meet project milestones.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee all on-site activities, including subcontractor coordination, material deliveries, and safety compliance.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets or exceeds the specifications and quality standards required for grocery store construction.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all site personnel.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project owner, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process, minimizing delays and cost overruns.
  • Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and project specifications.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders on the status of the project.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent on ground-up construction projects, with recent experience specifically in grocery store builds.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction techniques, building codes, and safety regulations related to grocery store construction.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of subcontractors, laborers, and other construction professionals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of project stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and implement solutions proactively.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Certification is required; additional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
