Sr. Manager For Automation Systems EngineeringThe Raytheon Industry 4.0 (I4.0) team is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager for the Automation Systems Engineering team in support of the Surveillance Consolidated Manufacturing Centers (CMC) in Goleta and El Segundo, CA. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and a proven track record of delivering complex digital & cyber-physical solutions on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Automation Systems Engineers while collaborating across factories/functions to manage a complex network of existing and developing factory automation systems within an Agile framework.What You Will DoCollaborate with program and factory customers to identify, develop, and deploy manufacturing automation and digital solutionsSupport early 'New Product Introduction' activities including Design for Manufacturing engagements to shape Raytheon products and automation solutionsSupport continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems using core Automation skills including PLC programming, Robotics programming, Vision programming, HMI programming, SCADA development and controls upgradesProvide technical leadership to full project lifecycle from requirements generation through project execution and into sustainmentResponsible for developing and executing a strategic plan, developing and maintaining factory automation/I4.0 roadmaps, and supporting the department's Product strategies/roadmaps driving common automated solutions, maximizing affordability and speed to market across sectorsResponsible for leading, developing, and mentoring a team of engineersEstablish measurable goals for products, track progress using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and make data-informed adjustments to ensure optimal performanceExpected to travel 25% of the timeWhat You Will LearnAbility to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, executives, and development teamsCultivate influential leadership capabilities to inspire, align, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, driving meaningful impact and organizational change.Hone your automation technical proficiencyQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. or minimum of 8 years with an advanced STEM degree in EngineeringThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceExperience with industrial robots and programming PLC'sExperience with industrial vision systemsQualifications We PreferActive DoD Secret ClearanceDemonstrated strong communication skills including the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience with automation sustainment and/or troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical/mechanical drawings and schematicsExperience with deploying complex IIOT based systemsExperience with Cognex and/or Keyence vision systemsExperience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML)Professional experience with the full life-cycle product development and integration of automation systems (vision, robotics, servo, controls, etc.)Ignition development experiencePython or other scripting experienceData analysis or data analytics experienceGood knowledge of safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and electrical compliancesExperience with control systems design (AutoCAD preferred)Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
