Solü is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our client, Arizona's largest electric utility. The designer will support the creation and modification of design drawings, bills of materials, and other project documentation for facility and plant upgrades. This role provides an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects involving the installation, modification, and operation of electrical, mechanical, civil, and instrument systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to the successful execution of these projects by ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely delivery of all required documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare or revise electrical, mechanical, civil, and instrument drawings using manual or CAD techniques.
  • Assist in developing structural layouts, signal diagrams, wiring and schematic diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Gather and organize engineering data, perform field investigations to determine design requirements, and perform necessary calculations.
  • Ensure all project commitments are achieved within the provided schedule.
  • Ensure conformance to procedures, government regulations, and industry codes.
  • Compile project documentation, submit for review and approval, and manage transmittals.
  • Maintain and update design configuration documents using CAD and manual drafting techniques.
  • Assist in the development of design change packages and ensure constructability, maintainability, and accessibility.
  • Perform plant walk-downs for design verification and coordination with other departments.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Specify, order, and expedite materials and equipment, and coordinate follow-up.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Completion of at least two years of college or technical school coursework in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) or a related technical discipline (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of design experience in the area of specialization is required, with some roles requiring up to four (4) years of experience.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with proficiency in PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a team environment, and a commitment to producing accurate and timely project deliverables.
