divh2Assistant Superintendent/h2pThe Assistant Superintendent coordinates field operations for specific areas and/or specific self-performed and subcontracted trades on a project. Assistant Superintendents ensure that construction work is completed according to a projects planned sequence and schedule, and implement and enforce pertinent safety and quality control procedures./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliSupervise and coordinate installation of work in accordance with the contract documents, project schedule and the planned sequence of work. Be aware of project milestone dates and the requirements to achieve them/liliHave thorough knowledge of the Contract Documents and the scope of work for the specific area(s) or trade(s) assigned/liliDevelop an understanding of the duration of each activity/liliApply knowledge of equipment capability and develop plans for optimum utilization/liliKnow the scheduled delivery dates for all material and equipment that have a direct effect on the area(s)/trade(s) assigned/liliSupervise field work force to assure that all work is put in place in the most cost effective manner. Know the budgets for work that is being supervised. Determine causes and develop remedies when costs are not in line with budget, estimate, and/or reasonable expectations/liliImplement the safety program. Conduct regular, scheduled and unscheduled, safety inspections to assure all working conditions and work habits are in compliance with company and government standards. Take remedial action when required. Establish a procedure for hazard recognition at the beginning of every new activity. Be thoroughly knowledgeable of all of the companys safety standards, manuals, and procedures/liliMaintain good working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers/liliProactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right work/liliTake an active role in recruiting top industry talent to join the Clark team. Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people/liliExceed our stakeholders expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals/li/ulh3
Basic Qualifications
/h3ulliUndergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline preferred but not required/lili3 to 6 years of construction management experience in a field supervisory role/liliDemonstrated ability to direct the work of others including subcontractors and suppliers/liliWorking knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc/liliWell versed in safety and government regulations (eg, OSHA) with success in implementation on a job site/liliAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships, Builds People / Teams Followership, Sets Direction Executes/li/ulh3
Preferred Qualifications
/h3ulliWorking knowledge of construction management software platforms and tools including Procore, PlanGrid, FieldWire, Bluebeam, and P6/li/ulh3Physical Demands/h3pThe physical demands described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role, which often involves both office and construction site environments. This role requires the ability to navigate active construction areas, including uneven terrain, stairs (temporary and permanent), ladders, and personnel hoists. Frequent standing and walking are typical. The employee must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The role also involves regular reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling. Visual acuity (including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus) is necessary for tasks such as reading plans, inspecting work, and ensuring safety. At times, this role involves sedentary work requiring prolonged sitting, utilizing hands for fine motor activities such as typing, writing, and manipulating objects. Effective communication through talking and hearing, as well as visual acuity for tasks like reading, computer use, and reviewing documents (including close, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus), are essential. The employee may occasionally work at heights and in confined spaces./ph3Work Environment/h3pThe work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role. The employee will frequently work on active construction sites, which may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, elevated or hazardous areas, airborne particles or fumes, and varying outdoor weather conditions. The noise level on construction sites is typically moderate to loud. The employee will also spend time in office environments with quiet to moderate noise levels. Due to the nature of the projects, deadlines, and clients requirements, the role frequently requires working more than 40 hours per week.
