Job Title: Computer Specialist (Fingerprinting Required)

Department: Information Technology

Locations: Verona, Camden, Utica, Herkimer, or Little Falls (New York)

Pay: $23/hr


Job Overview: The Computer Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support across a variety of IT-related tasks, including the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of computers, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices. The role demands excellent communication and organizational skills, with a preference for candidates experienced in Active Directory. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to learn new technologies rapidly, utilize documentation and internet resources effectively, and work collaboratively with IT staff at all levels within and outside the organization. This position requires travel.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices.
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving assistance for hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory environments.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users to understand their technical issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient resolution of technical problems.
  • Utilize documentation and internet resources to learn and implement new technologies and products.
  • Collaborate with IT staff both within and outside the organization.
  • Travel to various locations as required to provide on-site support.


Requirements:

  • Willingness to perform routine manual tasks.
  • Ability to follow simple oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to take and relay messages received by phone and/or two-way radio.
  • Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Qualifications:

  • Experience with Active Directory is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Technical proficiency in installation, repair, and troubleshooting of IT equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

Additional Requirements:
