PeerSource is currently recruiting for multiple Network Engineer on a Contract basis for our client in Germantown, MD.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and manage enterprise-level network systems, ensuring secure and efficient communication across various devices and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize network performance, working with products from multiple vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Velcloud, and Cradlepoint.
  • Implement network improvements and enable new device features to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Manage and support network devices, including routers and switches, ensuring seamless integration and communication using relevant protocols.
  • Analyze and resolve network issues on both Windows and Linux servers.
  • Perform firmware updates on network equipment to address bugs and introduce enhancements.
  • Utilize Python for configuration management and process automation within a cloud orchestration system.


Required Skills

  • 2-5+ years of experience in network engineering with a lean towards supporting clients.
  • Experience in most of the following: Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Velcloud, Cradlepoint, Windows, Linux
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working on data networking protocols and telecommunications.
  • BS degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field. MS degree, CCNP, or Fortinet certifications preferred.
  • Python experience preferred.
