Summary 


The Investigator is primarily responsible for completing Management Inquiries, Misconduct and EEO Investigations. The Investigator may participate in Cultural Assessments, as assigned. This role owns assigned cases to ensure the quality and timeliness of the resulting report.

 

Key duties include case management (including accurately tracking and cataloguing cases), drafting Investigative Plans, conducting telephonic or Teams interviews with relevant parties, ensuring timely recovery of testimony/statements, proactively identifying, and requesting relevant documentary evidence, additional witnesses, and timely submission of well-written Reports of Investigation (“ROIs”).

 

The Investigator is expected to participate in an atmosphere that promotes trust, creativity, open and honest feedback, accountability, and personal development.

 

Must be willing to jump into any task and help whenever or wherever needed. This person must be a self-starter and be willing to learn all aspects of the business.


We need someone coming out of a Law Firm or in the role with an HR Department as an Investigator, Sr. Intake Specialist, or a Paralegal doing this type of work.

MUST HAVE: PREVIOUS AND CURRENT EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE, LAW FIRM EXPERIENCE, STRONG WRITING SKILLS, TYPE 60-80 WORDS PER MINUTE. THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR ROLE.

 

Essential Duties


•      Conduct objective and fact-based investigations/inquiries (e.g., conduct thorough review of Case Files, draft Investigative Plans, and related interview questions, manage investigative process (including conducting telephonic/Teams interviews or issuing interrogatory affidavits). Minimize the need for supplemental/subsequent interviews due to missed witness, omitted issues or deficient questioning.  

•      Independently produce an objective and fact-based Report of Investigation, in accordance with company and client established quality standards. Perform quality assurance/control on all reports to include conformity of format, grammar, spelling. Ensure the final report is a succinct and useful narrative.

•      Conduct management inquiries, misconduct investigations and/or EEO investigations through proper development and maintenance of record evidence and drafting and delivery of useful reports.

•      Build positive relationships with Firm team members and client employees, at all levels including specifically with client Client/Agency Points of Contact.

•      Provide weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports that provide status on outstanding tasks. Ensure Managing Director is aware of cases status, delays, and needs, 

•      Make recommendations on strategies to improve processes and procedures.

•      Effectively utilize the case management system to track case activity.

•      Organize and track files (record evidence) related to case documents and important transactions.

•      Draft routine client communications.

•      Assist with file organization and maintenance (including scanning original files to electronic files).

•      Perform general office clerical duties (answers phones, takes messages, time entry, file set-up, proof reading, filing).

 

Education/Experience


Required 

•      Bachelor’s Degree

•      EEO Investigator Certification (can be received in the first 60 days of employment if you do not actively hold)


Preferred 

•      Paralegal certification or juris doctorate degree

•      At least three years of experience in either HR or employment law

•      At least three years of experience working in a law firm or legal department setting

•      Prior case management experience a plus

•      Ability to recognize and address inconsistencies and probe omissions during the live interview

Work Environment


The Firm largely works ‘virtually’ vis-à-vis its clients. The Firm works out of an office located in Centennial, CO. At least 40 hours a week is anticipated. The Investigator will be primarily working alongside the Managing Director and Lead Investigator; with routine interaction with clients, other employees and/or contractors.
