Overview The School Speech Language Pathologist works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support the evaluation, treatment, and progress monitoring of students with communication disorders. The SLPA plays a vital role in implementing evidence-based therapy sessions, assisting with documentation, and facilitating an inclusive environment that promotes effective communication skills among students. Responsibilities Essential duties Designs and implements intervention programs, which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students Works with school personnel and parents to design and implement the student's intervention plan, individual service plan, or individual student plan most appropriate to address the student's need Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student's speech-language goals Acts as a resource to parents, school personnel, and other caregivers in the area of speech/language development Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine child's speech/language competency, if requested Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of speech/language skills and generates reports providing feedback to school personnel and parents Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for these services Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required Qualifications The Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required A Master's Degree from an ASHA accredited university is required Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license/credential is required Certificate of Clinical Competency is preferred Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred Posted Salary Range USD $70,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr. Physical RequirementsAbility to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more. Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices. Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily. Capacity to remain calm and composed during physically and emotional demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
