Hedge Fund Research AnalystWe are seeking a talented individual to join our SECOR team at Mercer. This role will be based in New York City and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.As a Hedge Fund Research Analyst, you will gain exposure to hedge fund managers, assist in data collection and analysis, and support the preparation of research and client reports. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in hedge fund research and alternative asset management by supporting senior analysts and contributing to qualitative and quantitative research efforts.We will count on you to:Support senior analysts in interviewing hedge fund and alternative asset managers to assist in qualitative due diligenceAssist in interacting with managers employing quantitative and systematic strategiesHelp write research reports and provide input on manager evaluationsContribute to client reports covering market activity and portfolio performanceAssist in building and maintaining the manager research database and classification systemUse tools such as eVestment to screen funds, maintain manager peer groups, and assist in performance reportingSupport portfolio optimization efforts by helping with data preparation and rebalancing tasksCollect returns and exposure data to support performance attribution and risk analysisMonitor developments in alternative asset classes and inform colleagues and clients accordinglyAnalyze industry publications to support thought leadership initiatives and marketing effortsWhat you need to have:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related fieldInternship experience at the minimum, or up to 2 years of professional work experience in investment management, hedge fund research, or a related areaStrong interest in financial markets and alternative investments, including hedge funds and private investmentsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with data analysis toolsEffective written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, team-oriented mindsetAbility to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentWhat makes you stand out?Familiarity with hedge fund strategies and alternative asset classesExperience or coursework involving quantitative research or portfolio management toolsWhy join our team:We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients, and communities.Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.The applicable base salary range for this role is $64,800 to $129,600.
