Public Services Division DirectorThe Public Services Division Director provides strategic leadership that shapes how Sedgwick County delivers critical public services. Serving as a key liaison between community stakeholders, department/executive leadership, and the County Manager, this role translates vision into action by ensuring alignment, accountability, and progress across complex service areas. As a change-focused and visionary leader, the Director oversees strategic planning, organizational and policy development, contract management, and major cross-department initiatives. This position guides divisions through transformation and continuous improvement while promoting innovative, sustainable, and community-centered service delivery. Through strong collaboration and systems-level thinking, the Director strengthens partnerships and ensures County services remain coordinated, forward-looking, and responsive to community needs.Serve as advisor to the County Manager and Board of County Commissioners, participating in regular business meetings regarding all County functions.Partner with senior management and the County Manager, staff, and department heads to build collaborations, maximize resources, develop policies, and support special projects.Oversee budgeting, fiscal analysis, financial accountability, and unit/cost comparisons.Promote the Countys mission, vision, and values while leading organizational and employee development and recognizing contributions at all levels.Review departmental and divisional practices to drive continuous service improvement.Serve as a management partner and carry out special projects as assigned by the County Manager. Oversee all the divisions and programs within the Public Services Department.Align departmental KPIs and performance standards with County Strategic Goals to drive measurable, high-quality outcomes.Guide divisions in budget development, fiscal analysis, and capital projects using strategic goals and KPIs.Ensure compliance by reviewing laws, guidelines, and policies, and by developing departmental procedures.Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, legislators, regulatory bodies, and staff to sustain the system of care.Educate and advocate with elected officials for funding, stability, and program support.Represent the County on community boards, commissions, and task forces related to divisions and programs.
