Vice President of Procurement title may be offered based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.Birch Creek was ranked #3 on Inc. 5000's list of Fastest Growing Companies in 2023.This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Director (or VP) of Procurement to oversee all aspects of our procurement strategy and implementation plan.The Senior Director of Procurement will oversee and optimize the end-to-end procurement operations for our solar energy projects. This leadership role is responsible for sourcing, contracts, logistics, inventory management, and vendor relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of solar equipment and materials.Our headquarters is in St. Louis, with an additional office location in Los Angeles. The ability to work from our STL or LA office is a plus, but remote work candidates are also welcome.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals and industry best practices.Manage Purchasing and Contracts: Lead procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.Vendor Management: Develop and foster relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners to ensure reliability and quality.Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project teams to forecast demand and plan capacity.Risk Management/Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company goals, and provide updates to company leadership on changes in the regulatory environment.Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor the procurement team.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, construction management, or related field; master's preferred.Experience: 7-10 years of procurement experience, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry.Desired AttributesStrategic Thinker: The ability to think ahead and strategically align procurement decisions with the company's long-term goals and to meet project timelines.Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to anticipate challenges and provide solutions before they arise.Collaborative Leadership: A leader who fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability, while maintaining a clear focus on delivering results with candor and rigor.Industry Passion: A deep passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and the solar industry, with a strong drive to contribute to the global clean energy transition.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary and bonus.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.Opportunity to work with an innovative and mission-driven company.Career growth and development opportunities in a fast-growing company and industry.
