Responsibilities:

  • Open and/or close units and supervise all employees in board operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service to board customers.
  • Supervise employees in the residential dining hall, including checking in staff, covering shortages, and providing training, direction, and coaching.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, customer service, safety, and sanitation throughout service; ensure adherence to state and federal food safety guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model, consistently upholding practices.
  • Manage efficient operations that adhere to high standards of quality, safety, and health; ensure a well-trained, motivated workforce.
  • Ensure excellent customer service throughout meal periods by observing all aspects of service, product quality, and appearance of space, and addressing deficiencies immediately.
  • Optimize food quality, service, and customer satisfaction levels.
  • Assist in merchandising/displaying products and offerings; ensure attractive presentation and effective marketing of food and services.
  • Oversee inventory control, food and labor cost management, and security of food, equipment, and supplies.
  • Enforce proper portion control procedures, maintain target labor hours, and ensure the security of the dining hall, food, and equipment.
  • Control door access and enforce policies related to dining hall admission to prevent unauthorized access.

Work Schedule:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: End of the semester, with potential extension until Spring
  • Daily Hours: Varies, including weekends. Shifts may include:
  • 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Latest: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • Days Off: 2 consecutive days off per week

Job Requirements:

  • Experience Needed: 2-3 years of experience supervising staff
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED acceptable
  • Skills Required: Experience in leading and supervising staff, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and provide high-level customer service
