Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our Mechanical Buildings Design Group. In this role, you will work on a diverse collection of building configurations, performing design engineering, analysis, and studies on both new and existing structures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing HVAC and plumbing solutions for global projects, ensuring that all systems meet industry standards and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

HVAC and Plumbing Design:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize HVAC and plumbing systems for various facility types, including power generation buildings, substations, oil & gas structures, water treatment facilities, and energy storage buildings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet project specifications and client needs.


Project Delivery:

  • Work on traditional Design-Bid-Build and alternative conceptual-bid-build project delivery methods.
  • Engage in design and construction activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.


Areas of Focus:

  • Power generation halls, administrative areas, warehouses, maintenance facilities, workshops, laboratories, chemical storage & handling, electrical distribution centers, low & medium voltage switchgear, pump areas, engine generator rooms, blowers/air compressors, wastewater treatment buildings, and flammable & combustible liquids storage areas.


Engineering Studies:

  • Conduct energy audits and efficiency studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
  • Perform facility reviews for code compliance and apply sustainable strategies in design.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design Related Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology is a plus.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 11 years of related work experience in HVAC and plumbing design for industrial buildings.
  • Experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE Design Handbooks, SMACNA Standards, and NFPA standards.
  • Skilled in computer-generated HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and HVAC equipment sizing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Revit 3D Modeling.


Certifications:

  • LEED AP certified professional with experience in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
