Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Pay Range: $456,567.00 - $776,176.00 A trauma surgeon is responsible for the immediate and comprehensive treatment of critically injured patients. This includes the assessment, resuscitation, and surgical management of patients who have suffered traumatic injuries. The role often involves working in a fast-paced environment, typically within a hospital's emergency department or trauma center. Opportunity Details: Patient Assessment: Evaluate and diagnose patients with traumatic injuries. Conduct physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, CT scans). Emergency Care: Perform life-saving procedures and surgeries to stabilize patients. Provide initial resuscitation and manage critical care for injured patients. Surgical Procedures: Operate on patients to repair or remove damaged organs, tissues, or bones. Manage complex injuries, including those affecting the chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities. Postoperative Care: Monitor patients' recovery and manage postoperative complications. Work closely with other medical specialists, such as anesthesiologists, radiologists, and intensivists, to provide comprehensive care. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including emergency medicine doctors, nurses, and specialists, to ensure coordinated care. Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding their condition, treatment plans, and prognosis. Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Completion of a residency in general surgery. Fellowship training in trauma surgery or surgical critical care. Board certification in general surgery and trauma surgery (or equivalent certification). Current state medical license. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification. Post graduate training from an accredited Trauma Fellowship program.
