Posting Details Posting Details Job Title APP Certified Nurse Midwife/UKHC Requisition Number RE52649 Working Title APP Certified Nurse Midwife Department Name MG33T:OBGYN-GEORGETOWN Work Location Georgetown, KY Grade Level 15 Salary Range $95,056-185,848/year Type of Position Staff Position Time Status Full-Time Required Education MSN (Master's requirement does not apply to those who completed qualifying education by July 1, 2005) Click here for more information about equivalencies: Required Related Experience 1 yr Required License/Registration/Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification Physical Requirements sitting, standing, lifting, etc. Shift Mostly Monday-Friday, days, call coverage and weekend/evening shifts as required Job Summary Under a collaborative agreement with a physician; the certified nurse midwife (CNM) is an Advanced Practice Provider who, in collaboration with an attending physician, is responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum, and newborn patients. The CNM performs physical exams, collects and documents data, manages labor and spontaneous delivery, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. The CNM practice includes primary as well as specialized care provided at UK Women's Health-Georgetown and Georgetown Community Hospital. The CNM promotes safety and quality in clinical care, contributes to research and teaching, and provides leadership in the organization. Per the OB/GYN Practice Plan, all CNMs are required to take 8 call shifts per month. 8 call shifts is the equivalent of 4 weeknights plus one weekend per month. i.e. one weeknight per week = 4 shifts/month; All day Saturday & Sunday = 4 shifts/month. Weekday work, whether on L&D or in the outpatient location, is considered part of the normal workweek and not considered a call shift.
