In this pivotal role, you will shape the strategic vision for design operations while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to amplify PagerDuty's design impact. You will architect operational frameworks, optimize design processes, and build scalable systems that enable our teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with experience in design operations, research coordination, and a proven track record of implementing systems that elevate team performance and drive organizational success.Key ResponsibilitiesLead operational aspects of the design team, including tool management, budget oversight, and asset library maintenanceMaintain design team rituals, including design sprints, cross-functional workshops, and office hoursCoordinate research operations, including participant recruitment, interview scheduling, and insights managementMaintain documentation, guidelines, and processes for design-engineering collaborationDrive efficiency in design operations through process improvements and automation initiativesCreate and maintain comprehensive onboarding programs for new design team membersProactively identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement solutionsPartner with design leadership to establish operational vision and strategic priorities.Define, track, and report on key performance indicators for design team efficiency and impactFoster a collaborative, high-performance design culture through team-building initiatives and cross-functional partnershipsBasic Qualifications5+ years of experience in Design Operations, Research Operations, or a similar roleExperience with vendor management, ideally managing design tools and systems (e.g., Figma, Fullstory, design libraries)Strong project management and organizational skillsExperience creating and maintaining design/research documentation and guidelinesDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives independentlyPreferred QualificationsExperience with design systems and component librariesExperience developing and implementing onboarding programs (design team)Experience with research participant recruitment and managementExperience working for enterprise software companiesKnowledge of UX research methodologies and best practicesTrack record of implementing measurable process improvements and KPIsExperience in change management and organizational transformationPagerDuty is a flexible, hybrid workplace. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position.
