Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Pulmonary - Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights, including weekends as needed Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Previous travel experience Job Description: - Care for patients with respiratory diagnoses and other medical conditions, focusing on adult and geriatric populations. - Perform trach care for patients on Trach Collar or Room Air. - Experience with Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips, and Peritoneal Dialysis is preferred. - Responsible for titrating common drips such as Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg/hr only), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose for renal perfusion only), and Amiodarone. - Collaborate with Monitor Techs available 24/7; RNs must review their strips each shift. - Charge Nurse role may be required, with possible cross-training, and involvement in charge roles when needed. - Utilize equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow O2, and specialty beds, with RNs maintaining trach care and RT handling vent equipment. - Participate in a rotation that includes every other weekend, following a set schedule. - Float to other units or departments such as Med-Surg or the Emergency Department when needed, with priority given to the float pool. - Required to adhere to the dress code, including navy scrubs for RN/LPN, which must be solid in color. - Participate in extensive orientation, including hospital and nursing-specific training and an abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist due 90 days from the start date. - Utilize the MEDITECH 6.1 charting system. - Follow holiday scheduling requirements with rotational preferences based on prior year's schedule.
