Garage AttendantUnder immediate supervision, performs a variety of unskilled tasks in the servicing of motor vehicles and maintenance of a city garage; and does related work as required. Dispenses gasoline, oil and alcohol and accounts for same; tests radiators for anti-freeze content. Moves vehicles about garage; drives a truck or car to pick up parts at suppliers or perform other errands. Acts as watchman on an assigned shift in a garage; town trucks to garage on call. Washes floors and windows; shovels snow; applies sand to runways. Replaces light bulbs and fuses. Washes and cleans cars and trucks. Maintains simple records. Must possess a Massachusetts Driver's License. Must be a resident of the city of Boston. General knowledge of tools, materials and equipment used in garage work; general knowledge of the objectives of the work. Mechanical aptitude; skill in the use of common tools.
