Administrative Specialist Ii, 4-HThis position collaborates with county 4-H faculty, staff, leaders, and fair personnel to plan and implement 4-H activities, contests, shows, and awards ceremonies at the Twin Falls County Fair. Assist 4-H Educator, 4-H leaders council, and standing committees in planning, implementing, and promoting county, district, and state 4-H activities and events as assigned. Work with the 4-H Educator, support staff, and other county educators with 4-H responsibilities to develop, plan, and conduct programs that deliver youth education and volunteer development curricula.The position provides a wide range of operational support to visitors, students and employees, navigating a variety of administrative processes, procedures and cyclical calendars of activities critical to the operation of the unit within the broader university. The primary responsibility is to serve as an administrative process expert and coordinator. The position may serve as first point of contact for the department while also performing administrative functions such as researching information and solving problems for faculty, staff and students, and providing program and/or event assistance. Duties may include:Compose, proofread, edit and distribute a variety of business documents and routine reportsMaintain schedules and event calendarsCoordinate logistics for regular travel and meetingsCollect and organize data, enter information into various electronic systems in accordance with university or department procedure to ensure accuracy and compliance, validate information and resolve conflicts in dataReview internal operating procedures and practices to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow and records managementGreet office visitors and respond to incoming calls and email correspondence. Provide information about office services and processes, redirect inquiries to appropriate offices/individualsManage inventoryOther duties as assignedRequired Experience:One year performing office support functions such as document or records management, composing or editing and formatting business documents, reception and/or customer serviceUsing computer software and applications for word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet researchBalancing a workload of assigned tasks to meet multiple deadlinesRequired Education:High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Other:Ability to work non-standard business hours as neededRequires travel between locations during the business day for meetings and to support program activitiesAdditional Preferred:Bachelors degreeThree or more years experience as a program coordinator or assistantExperience with 4-H Youth Development (personal or professional)Strong people skills; able to motivate and work courteously with youth, adults, and volunteersExcellent written and verbal communication; able to prepare reports and speak to groupsSkilled in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-makingExperience developing and adapting educational materialsProficient with computers and standard office software; advanced skills in web design, spreadsheets, and data management preferredExperience in program marketing, promotion, fundraising, and data collectionPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, climb stairs on occasionallyAbility to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionallyDegree Requirement:N/A: No degree requirementFLSA Status: Non-ExemptEmployee Category: ClassifiedPay Range: $20.50 per hour, or higher depending on experience.Type of Appointment: Of_AppointmentFTE: 1.0Full Time/Part Time: Full TimeFunding: This position is contingent upon the continuation of work and/or funding.Visa Sponsorship: NoPosting Date: 11/19/2025Closing Date:Open Until Filled: YesSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Applications received by December 3, 2025, will be given first consideration.
