You must be a competent swimmer/know how to swim, PASSIONATE about working with the public, especially CHILDREN in the arena of SWIMMING. We promote our employees 100% within the team. We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn, grow with the company and not stay stagnant. Starting hourly pay rate: $14.00 to $18.00 based on experience and demonstrated abilities. You must also have a genuine love for teaching, especially working with infants, children, as well as teenagers and adults. Special consideration will be given to instructors who are bilingual (Spanish/English) and also have experience teaching children from the ages of 6 months, as well as Special Needs. We are looking for long-term candidates who want to grow with our company.Instructors are needed for multi-locations in Arlington and Grand Prairie, TXSwim Instructor Job DescriptionDescription: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance with the SafeSplash Swim School teaching certification and curriculum. Essential duties and responsibilities as a SWIM INSTRUCTOR (include but not limited to):The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash curriculum in a fun and positive mannerProvide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming effortsStructure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skillsEnsure swimmer safetyMaintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start timesProvide Deck Supervisor with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc.) to keep proper class organizationProvide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash 'N Tell weekMaintain proper SafeSplash uniform standards outlined in employee handbookPosition Qualifications and RequirementsPrevious swim instruction experience is preferredA minimum of 1 year working with children (teaching)Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish speaking a BIG plusIndividual must be trainable, creative, and willing to follow directionsSwim background; must be able to demonstrate swim strokesAvailable to work flexible hours, including weekendsMust be comfortable interacting with children, teens, and adultsSpecial consideration will be given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers aged 6 months to 10 years and Special NeedsMust be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weightJob ConditionWorking indoorsConstant movement in waterStanding and walking for an extended period of time in waterWorking in close proximity to othersConstantly speaking to a variety of all ages, especially childrenSetting up/breaking down pool equipment before and after lessons (E.g.: Benches)Some light deck cleaning dutiesWe Will ProvideOn-going trainingSafeSplash uniformSafeSplash curriculum trainingA fun and supportive work environmentOur Interview ProcessPhone screeningIn-person interviewIn-water with a swim test - show us you can swim; minimum of 2 types of stokesBackground check & Drug testThe SafeSplash system believes in Leadership, Respect, Execution, and Quality.
