Director Of Product & EngineeringPosition Purpose: The Director of Product & Engineering is responsible for framing and driving strategic Product and Engineering projects to support the growth of Private Brands. The Director also leads category level new product development opportunities and effectively leverages his/her team to support Merchandising and Product development.Key Responsibilities:30% Growth - Develop and grow NPD category wide solutions by effectively applying Industrial and Design engineering resources working together with Product Development Merchants20% Leadership - Coach and develop by upgrading talent, develop associates and prepare the organization for growth20% Operations - Oversee and prioritize the development of Value Engineering Costing Models, Value Add and NPD work30% Strategy - Develop, coordinate and operationalized strategies to increase Product and Engineering support to enable PB growthDirect Manager/Direct Reports:This Position typically reports to VP Product and EngineeringThis Position has 5 Direct ReportsTravel Requirements:Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the timePhysical Requirements:Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.Working Conditions:Located in a comfortable indoor area.
