With 6,000 employees across 20+ countries, we are a purpose-driven organization committed to pioneering research and breakthrough solutions that set new industry standards.Reporting to the Vice President, North America, the Business Director will lead Croda's Pharmaceutical and Crop Care businesses across the region, with full accountability for Sales, Business Development, and Marketing. The role is responsible for shaping and executing a regional growth strategy, delivering revenue and gross margin targets across these two key markets, expanding the commercial pipeline, and identifying strategic opportunities, including partnerships and acquisitions.This is a unique opportunity to drive meaningful growth in a fast-moving sector and shape the future of Croda's business at a time of significant expansion and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, communicate, and implement a 35 year regional business strategy aligned with Croda's global Pharma & Crop Care priorities and regional business directionFoster a strong business development environment by driving innovation and building a high-conversion commercial pipeline year over yearFull P&L accountability for the region, delivering short-term revenue and margin targets, and managing associated cost centers and commercial expensesBuild and lead high-performing sales and marketing teams focused on excellence, customer centricity, and achievement of strategic KPIsOversee regional pricing strategy and forecasting, ensuring working capital is effectively managed and financial targets are metCultivate strong relationships with key customers, and ensure alignment across customer service, sales, technical (R&D), and marketing teams to deliver exceptional serviceLead continuous improvement initiatives using digital, AI, and data tools to enhance internal processes and access to key market and operational informationDevelop business cases for CAPEX investments and contribute to the five-year capital planning process in line with long-term strategyIdentify and assess market trends, emerging needs, and external forces that may impact future business performanceConduct in-depth competitive and customer analyses to understand local dynamics and uncover opportunities for differentiationPartner with regional R&D teams to develop and validate business cases for new product launches and innovative formulationsWho We're Looking ForDegree qualified in a technical discipline (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry)Proven experience leading regional or global business units within the pharmaceutical (ingredients, CDMO etc) sector ideally with exposure to vaccines, adjuvants, and/or novel excipientsStrong track record of developing and executing business strategies focused on both organic and inorganic growthA proven people leader with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire regional teams while influencing global stakeholdersDeep understanding of customer expectations and market dynamics, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with R&D and manufacturing to meet those needsA leadership style grounded in authenticity, inclusion, and alignment with Croda's mission and valuesDemonstrated strength in data analytics, continuous improvement, and challenging the status quo to drive innovation across commercial functionsAt Croda, we believe our people are our difference.
