Senior Internal Auditor IThe Senior Internal Auditor I will perform routine financial, compliance, and operational audits in accordance with generally accepted internal auditing standards. An internal audit (including Sarbanes Oxley processes) will consist of reviewing how controls are designed and operating to mitigate identified risks of the various departments within the organization to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial records; strong internal control environments, and compliance with company standards, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.This role will sit on-site three days a week at our Cleveland, OH office.Responsibilities1. Performing process walkthroughs to identify the key activities, risks and controls2. Applying risk and control concepts to assess control design and developing a test approach of the key controls3. Testing the operating effectiveness of the key controls identified4. Enhancing audit/accounting/technical knowledge5. Discussing and reporting control design deficiencies and controls not operating as designed6. Validating with management the resolution and implementation of corrective action plans7. Provides suggestions to management on ways to mitigate risk or enhancing the effectiveness of processes8. Performing direct assistance (i.e., substantive testing) work on behalf of our external auditors9. Performing special projects as deemed necessary by management10. Maintaining organizational and professional ethical standards and ensuring internal audit activities are carried out in compliance with the Standards11. Completing audits' key requirements and workpapers with limited supervision.12. Documenting high quality workpapers that are easy to follow and require minimal revisions upon review13. Willingness to enhance internal audit concepts and techniques14. Asks questions to better understand assigned tasks15. Communicates status regularly16. Meet deadlines or informs direct supervisor of roadblocks17. Listen to peers, managers and clients18. Willing to put in the extra effort so that the Department can meet key milestones and deadlines19. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned20. As needed, be able to travel-domestically up to 5%QualificationsRequired: Bachelor Degree, preferable in Accounting or Internal Audit Computer skills on MS Office (e.g. excel, power point) Clear and concise written communication Minimal grammatical / spelling errors in written communication Professional demeanor with clients and teammates Demonstrates integrity and respect Basic audit/accounting/technical knowledgePreferred: CPA, CIA or equivalent audit qualification is a plus 2-4 years of Audit experienceWhat We OfferAmTrust Financial Services offers a competitive compensation package and excellent career advancement opportunities.
