Staff Accountant

AccountantWe are seeking a dedicated accountant to join our team. This role involves preparing journal entries to facilitate the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness for financial reporting, and conducting variance analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet accounts. You will also be responsible for reconciling bank activity and sales and use tax transactions to the general ledger, as well as posting intercompany transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries to support the month-end close process. Ensure journal entries are accurate and complete for financial reporting purposes. Conduct variance analysis for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts. Reconcile bank activity to the general ledger.

Reconcile sales and use tax transactions to the general ledger. Accurately and promptly post intercompany transactions. Essential Skills:Proficiency in accounting, reconciliation, and reporting.

Experience

with financial statements, balance sheets, and bank reconciliation. Strong understanding of general ledger and journal entries. Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and sum formulas. Work Environment:Join a collaborative team of 4 within a larger accounting group of 15.

This role is based in a regional headquarters, providing exposure to senior leadership both locally and at the corporate level. You will work directly with a manager who holds a CPA, allowing your hours to count towards CPA certification. Job Type & Location:This is a contract to hire position based out of Lewisville, TX. Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $40.87/hr.
