Position Summary


  • The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nuclear medicine department.
  • The nuclear medicine supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of high-quality service to patients while also providing leadership and guidance to a team of nuclear medicine technologists.


Education


  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology - Required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field of study - Preferred


Required License and or Certification:


  • Must be ARRT (N) or CNMT certified.
  • Must obtain a license from the Maryland Board of Physicians Quality Assurance to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the state of Maryland.


Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Nuclear Medical Technologist (for supervisor role) - Required
  • Three years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience including one year of work-lead or supervisory experience - Preferred
  • Supervises as well as performs all nuclear medicine procedures to the highest quality.
  • Provides input back to staff regarding individual image quality.
  • Complies statistical and QA data as needed.
  • Maintains exam protocols to assure exam quality with minimum exposure levels.
  • Coordinates with personnel of other departments regarding patient and/or staff related problems.
  • Makes recommendations concerning the purchase, maintenance and/or repair of equipment.
  • Responsible for the orientation and training of staff.
  • Interviews and recommends the hiring of new staff members.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations of staff.
  • Performs disciplinary action as outlined in the handbook..
