Performs an array of functions that include verifying quantity, quality, and labeling of outgoing goods per customer order, ensuring that all customer orders have shipping labels and are packed to customer specs by performing the following duties:/pulliSelecting and processing materials and cartons/liliPicking and filling customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems/liliOrganizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse/li/ulpSpecific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:/pulliHandle routine needs that arise in the shipping department/liliIdentify and maintain necessary equipment, tools, and supplies/liliInspect equipment, perform daily checklist, and communicate any deficiencies to supervision./liliContinually meet production efficiency levels/liliMaintain quality of work (Accuracy is key)/liliWork independently and in a team environment willing to help in other departments and work overtime when necessary (flexibility is a must)/liliConsistently work scheduled shifts and be on time in order to comply with company attendance policy/li/ulpstrongESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:/strong/ph3Shipping/h3ulliPack orders according to customers shipping instructions, apply shipping labels, document carton count for outgoing LTL and Truckload customer shipments/liliPrioritize orders based on customers expected ship date/liliCommunicate with department supervisor, crew leader, and office personnel, ensuring accurate and timely shipment of customer orders/liliWhen necessary, use a computer to pack customer orders utilizing SAP Warehouse Management ulliScan each carton/liliWeigh each carton/liliApply Shipping labels/li/ul/liliOperate manual pallet jack equipment to maneuver products within the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner/li/ulpstrongOther/strong/pulliTrain new associates on the above shipping tasks/liliSweep and maintain a clean and safe work environment/liliReport any unsafe work conditions that might occur/liliOther duties as required/li/ulh2What Were Looking For/h2pstrongSkills and Conditions of Employment:/strong/pulliPrefer 1 year previous experience packing freight/liliThe ability to work the 1st shift work schedule: currently Monday through Friday 6:30AM to 3:00PM CT. This position requires schedule flexibility, as dictated by business demand and available resources including overtime at times/liliMust be 18 years or older/liliMust be able to pass required OSHA CERTIFIED Written Test/liliMust be able to pass pre-employment basic aptitude driving test/liliMust be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check/li/ulh2Language Skills:/h2pMust be able to communicate effectively with others./ph2Mathematical Skills:/h2pAbility to count accurately and efficiently/ppstrongPhysical Demands:/strong/ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
