Executive Director - Sales (Temporary)AFAR is looking for a temporary salesperson to cover a maternity leave. This role will prospect, nurture client and client relationships, field RFPs, close business and hold meetings with stakeholders for a 16 week term. During this period, this role will be responsible for the generation and growth of online/offline revenue through AFAR's existing channels - Afar.com, AFAR Magazine, AFAR Audio, Social, Events, Advisor, Creates, Video etc. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in travel or related media sales, public relations, project management, and marketing. We're looking for a self-starter with maternity cover experience who is proactive in driving revenue and increasing client base from day 1. Managing the end to end sales process is a requirement. Organization, time management, and attention to detail will be critical to deliver success.ResponsibilitiesDrive toward and beyond revenue goal across AFAR platforms within assigned territory, agencies and/or categoriesIdentify sales prospects and work on prospect strategy.Learn and communicate clients' key KPIs and share account insights to the marketing team for optimal proposal developmentCollaborate with marketing, corporate, production, finance and other teams within the brand unit to produce top of the line advertising solutions and revenue opportunities for book of business.Present AFAR brand and tailored opportunities to various clients, stakeholders, agency partnersDevelops and manages ongoing relationships with clients and agency relationships.Responsible for overall account health, retention, growth and optimization across platforms and product lines.Reports business performance, status and trends to assigned accounts.Makes independent tactical decisions in alignment with company values, goals, policies & proceduresQualificationsPosition is remote, tri-state area with access to New York City strongly preferred2-3 years experience of integrated media salesMust be highly motivated and passionateExcellent presentation, time management and organizational skillsSuperior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalFluency in the latest technologies (digital, social and mobile)Self-starter able to solve problems, identify issues and develop solutionsStrong prospecting, negotiation and closing skillsProven sales and closing success with ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and high-level conservationsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, remote, start-up environment with grace under pressureA love of travelMonthly retainer to be issued, pay to be negotiated based on experienceTiming: February 16 - June 16, dates are subject to change
