Consider our Machine Building team here at Bastian SolutionsJob Summary:A Custom Machine Builder for our Custom Automation facility will be responsible for general fabrication and assembly of material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is assembly, other duties may include fabrication, welding and painting of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Solutions shop equipment as needed.Job Functions:Follow QMS as applicable and corporate level policies.Ability to assemble machines from interpreting engineering assembly printsAssemble equipment from fabricated parts, including weldmentsAbility to set up and operate saws, shear, press brake, punches. Ability to calibrated measuring devices and utilize hand tools for fabrication tasksProduce high quality assemblies with low rejection rateExecute required tasks in an effective manner and have craftsmanship in all aspects of jobTake direction and learn under immediate Team LeaderStrive for improvement through training opportunitiesEmphasis on assembly of our equipment (including minor electrical wiring)Team focused mentality is necessary to perform this rolePreferred Skills and Required Qualifications:Strong mechanical aptitude (experience with use of power/hand tools, understanding mechanics of industrial equipment, assembly/disassembly, etc.)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop finished product from these plansRelevant fabrication shop experienceMust obtain a High School or General Education Diploma at minimumGeneral knowledge of mechanical fasteners and their specific functionsGeneral knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic mechanical systemsRaising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position the task of position occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities, movement, etc.Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in soundExerting between 10 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objectsAbout Bastian Solutions: Bastian Solutions, a Toyota Advanced Logistics company, is an independent material handling and robotics system integrator providing automated solutions for distribution, manufacturing, and order fulfillment centers around the world.
