Some 20,000 financial services and healthcare organizations, from the world's largest companies to small and mid-market firms, rely on SS&C for expertise, scale, and technology.We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Cloud Architect to lead the design, development, and management of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with public and private cloud platforms, with a strong focus on converting and migrating workloads from public to private cloud environments. This role involves architectural planning, platform evaluation, and implementation to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure that aligns with business goals.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures.Lead the conversion of workloads and services from public cloud to private cloud environments, including assessment, planning, migration, and optimization.Evaluate existing cloud infrastructure and develop a hybrid or private cloud strategy based on business and compliance needs.Architect and oversee the build-out of private cloud environments using platforms such as OpenStack, VMware, or Hyper-V.Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure governance across private and hybrid cloud environments.Develop and enforce architectural standards, policies, and best practices.Manage cloud costs and recommend strategies for efficiency and scalability.Lead or support disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and cloud backup strategies.Guide and mentor engineering and DevOps teams in cloud-native design patterns and private cloud technologies.Qualifications:Required:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, or DevOps.Proven experience with cloud migration, particularly from public to private or hybrid cloud.Strong technical expertise in at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).In-depth experience with private cloud technologies such as VMware vSphere, OpenStack, or Nutanix.Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.Strong understanding of networking, security, storage, and virtualization in cloud environments.Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Preferred:Cloud and virtualization certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional).Experience building and managing on-prem data centers or private cloud platforms.Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001).Soft Skills:Strategic thinking and technical leadership.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Clear and confident communication with both technical and business stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives to completion.We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, to enable us to bring a diversity of perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
