Northwest Indiana based steel fabricator seeking a Manager for the Coatings/Metalizing Department.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10 + years of experience Management experience in steel coatings/applications (galvanizing, paint - zinc, epoxy, polyurethane)
• Knowledge of galvanizing and/or experience with metalizing is a plus.
• Experience overseeing 10 + employees on two shifts.

The position of Coatings/Metalizing Manager is a hands-on management position with the expectation that the manager will assist the leadman and crew as needed. It would be expected that this position is 75% on the floor assisting, cross -training, observing, correcting, sequencing, and identifying improvement opportunities on current in process work. It would be expected that 25% of time is spent on collecting and reporting efficiency and throughput metrics, maintaining required EPA and preventative maintenance documentation, planning upcoming projects for best operational flow to meet either internal or external customer delivery requirements. This position is supported by a working Leadman and dedicated Quality Control Inspector.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift 30+ pounds and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
