Job description
Dynamic and growing personal Injury firm is adding a Veteran Affairs Attorney to their practice. The ideal candidate possesses the empathy and respect to represent those that have served and their families. They will want to be a part of a supportive and collaborative team and be highly motivated to grow the VA Department.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Representing veterans and their families with disability claims and appeal fillings.
- Preparing case strategy, development, arguments and appeals.
- Maintain knowledge of current statues, regulations and case law.
- Client Intake and evaluations.
- Participating in regular meetings on departmental and management progresses and strategies.
- Maintaining awareness of caseload and case deadlines.
- Maintaining communication with clients in a timely manner.
- Managing and supporting VA team with questions and client concerns.
- Preparing and presenting VA team with departmental trainings.
- The position may allow the candidate to work remotely but must have the ability to travel to home office as the position requires.
Job Requirements:
- 2 year experience Veterans Law or Insurance Defense experience is ideal.
- Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills.
- Creative Strategy.
- Management experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Education/ License/Certification:
- Law Degree from an accredited law school.
- Current Bar Admission.
- Current or actively seeking Veteran Affairs certification.
