Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Work Schedule: Hourly, Non-exempt, Temporary
Dates: August - December 20, 2024
Hours: 40 hours/week; M-F: 8am-4:30pm
Position Responsibilities
- Administer and document medications according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensures nursing policies and procedures are efficient, safe, and effective and maintains accurate documentation of nursing services, including emergency situations.
- Demonstrates a high standard of ethics and professionalism maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Maintains a clean, orderly Health Center to ensure a safe physical environment, practicing standard precautions. at all times including maintaining adequate supplies, locked medication cabinets and maintaining sharps containers in appropriate locations.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative relationships with school personnel, other nurses, students, and families in a professional manner and with appropriate frequency about school health issues.
- Works collaboratively to enhance the Whole Child experience with the following departments: counseling, chaplaincy, ARC, Sports Medicine, Division Heads, Athletics, Security and Fine arts.
- Active, unencumbered State of Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license; a BSN is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience; school or pediatric experience is preferred, Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Current with CEU requirements for the State of Georgia to keep their RN license active.
- Participate in specialized pediatric continuing education/CEU's for asthma, diabetes, concussion, and other commonly seen pediatric disease/injury. Should a deficiency be observed by administration, these continuing education offerings will be.
- Active CPR/AED/first aid training/certification.
