Our mission revolves around fostering independence and individual choice through a wide range of programs and services, including computer instruction, employment support, personal adjustment to blindness training, and low vision services.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Licensed Professional Counselor at Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. The Licensed Professional Counselor will be responsible for providing counseling services, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating support groups for individuals with vision loss and other disabilities. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance clients' quality of life and independence.
Qualifications
- Experience in individual and group counseling
- Knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities
- Licensure as a Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania
- Experience in working with individuals with vision loss or disabilities is a plus
- Master's degree in Counseling or related field
