Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our team of attorneys. We currently have 2 in house and this position would be for a 3rd attorney. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing legal matters related to real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing Title Opinions and Document Preparation for our 10 locations. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple locations.

Everything we do is a flat fee so there is no expectation to keep track of time to bill to clients; no courtroom work; no expectation to bring in your own book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze title commitments, abstracts, and surveys for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct title searches and resolve title defects and other issues to ensure clear title.
  • Draft and review legal documents.
  • Provide legal guidance and support to escrow officers, underwriters, and other staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to real estate transactions.
  • Stay current on changes in real estate law and communicate updates to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Dakota and Minnesota.
  • 0-5 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with a focus on title and escrow services.
  • Strong understanding of title insurance, title examinations, and real estate closings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
