If you indicated veteran status on your application, you must submit your DD-214 along with the completed DTS-1 (application).The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is seeking an individual experienced with Workblock Coordination that will lead/support projects pertaining to Railway Infrastructure, Maintenance or Operations. The Manager, Workblock Coordination is responsible for ensuring the management and coordination of maintenance and construction phase work efforts as programmed by the Office of Program Management Oversight (PMO) for multi-million-dollar Capital Engineering Projects and Operational Maintenance ensuring the highest level of efficiency, safety, and reduced service impacts. The projects include Civil, Structural/Track work, Mechanical/Electrical, ADA, Architectural, Environmental, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), and Special Projects undertaken by Facilities Engineering, Track & Structural Preservation Engineering, Construction Management and Systems & Equipment Engineering Divisions for Light Rail and Metro. The position is also responsible for instructing, directing, and guiding various MDOT MTA Transportation Engineering Managers, MDOT MTA Operations Managers and multi-disciplinary consultant/contractors/vendors scheduling of infrastructure maintenance and project construction/installations. Additionally, the position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining various procedures for infrastructure access. The employee receives general supervision from the Director, Program Management Oversight. The current position is located in Baltimore City, Maryland.Qualifications:Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work. One (1) year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures. Two (2) years of this experience must have been functioning as a project manager, team member, or project coordinator supporting projects pertaining to Railway Infrastructure, Maintenance or Operations.The ideal candidate will possess:Knowledge of MDOT MTA's Transit Rail service areaSupervisory skills and experience managing the work of consultants, contractor or vendorsPublic speaking skills to represent MDOT MTAStrong knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office Product and ToolsSkill in Technical Report WritingNotes:Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.You must complete a Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) employment application (Form DTS-1) to be considered for this recruitment.
