About the Role: Corrugator Supervisor - Evening

Hood Container Corporation, Houston Division is seeking a Corrugator Supervisor to, supervise, plan, organize, coordinate and monitor activities in manufacturing processes and co-workers in the fabrication and converting of corrugated material.


How you will contribute:

  • Provide leadership on the operating floor and strive for compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications. Confers with production co-workers to coordinate activities of the department.
  • Responsible for coaching, training, and developing operations personnel in safety, quality, production, problem-solving, and technical and interpersonal communication skills
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product. Collaborates and suggests changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the department.
  • Maintains quality, efficiencies, and production levels set by management.
  • Ensure best practices are being followed for minimization of waste at machine centers
  • Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production
  • Track continuous improvement opportunities where performance issues are apparent and provide leadership/action plans for gap closure
  • Responsible for directing and training co-workers and subordinates in the operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Inspects all work in progress and finished goods.
  • Reviews any identified errors and complaints and actively assists in any corrective and/or preventive action as needed.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Communicates any deficiencies or challenges with supervising and management team to avoid problems between shift changes.
  • Prepares and provides subordinate performance evaluations.
  • Keeps upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of violating co-workers.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested

What it takes:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in the corrugated industry highly prefer /or training; equivalent
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Must be available to work day, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization, including dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Effective communicator and problem solver.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to write routine e-mails and correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • 5-10 years of Industry knowledge.
