Scientist I - Protein Characterization - Contract - New Haven CT
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and innovative Protein Characterization Specialist.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and performing protein characterization, overseeing and training associates, participating in cross-functional development teams, and managing external research laboratories. This role is crucial in the company's mission to advance the field of biochemistry and pharmaceuticals.
Skills & Requirements:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in protein characterization by LC/MS using mass spectrometry instruments and data analysis software.
- Ability to give clear instructions, train, and oversee personnel as required on practices within the laboratory.
- Understanding of GLP and quality guidelines; and ability to contribute to process improvements.
- Experience in characterizing antibodies, proteins, or peptides by mass spectrometry.
- Experience working with CROs for developing assays and testing samples.
The Scientist I - Protein Characterization's responsibilities will be:
- Lead and perform protein characterization (method development and analysis) by LC/MS.
- Train and oversee associates in method development and analysis by LC/MS.
- Participate in cross-functional development teams representing the Protein Characterization group.
- Lead scientific/technical problem-solving efforts within the group.
- Perform mass spectrometry characterization of biotherapeutics from discovery to marketed products.
- Author CMC sections for regulatory and technical reports, department-specific protocols and reports, and general operating procedures.
- Lead the development and authoring of new procedures and work practices.
- Manage the activities of external research laboratories.
Compensation:
- $30 - $35 per hour
