Amazon Web Services Logistics SpecialistAmazon is seeking a logistics professional for our Amazon Web Services Team in the Columbus, OH area. Logistics Specialists monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities in our warehouse and data centers. They process inbound and outbound shipments, verify inventory, conduct cycle counts, manage an Inventory Management System and own chain-of-custody processes for Data Center Technicians and Engineers. They will also be responsible for transporting parts between different locations operating sprinter vans, trucks, or various powered equipment (i.e forklift or electric pallet jack). Specialists should be comfortable and willing to regularly drive a variety of motorized vehicles, including box trucks up to 26' in length. Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older. Candidate must hold a valid state-appropriate driver's license, be able to obtain their Driver Qualification File (DQF) and or a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidate must obtain & maintain a DOT Med Card and be eligible to drive in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. This position involves frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials and products. Logistics Specialists will be required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company. They must also maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all work spaces. Preferred candidates will have experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, as well as experience and knowledge of reverse logistics processes. This future Amazonian must possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, commitment to Operational Excellence, and adhere to strict safety standards. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.Key job responsibilities:Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and EngineersLoad and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehiclesAttend company provided fork lift operator trainingComplete company provided training in driving box trucks up to 26' in lengthHandle sensitive/classified materialsWork with and/or around moving mechanical partsOccasionally work is in an office environmentWork overtime as requiredPerform the following tasks:Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distancesParticipate in group lifts of 41 pounds or moreFrequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reachRegularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlCoordinate body movements when using tools or equipmentReach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balancePush or pull heavy objects into positionWork in a noisy environmentStand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of timeAbout the team:AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
