Custom Business Solutions, a Michigan-based talent agency, is seeking an experienced Java Development Manager for a hybrid workplace opportunity in Chicago, IL. Qualified candidates submitting an application will be considered for this Direct Hire opportunity. Experience with Guidewire is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILL SET:

  • Proven experience managing Java teams with Guidewire (preferred). Experience with Duck Creek, Majesco, or Socotra is also acceptable.
  • Strong technical background with an understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry is helpful.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage team of Guidewire Java developers, including overseeing the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from design to deployment, ensuring high-quality software solutions
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define and prioritize development projects
  • Develop and maintain strong understanding of Guidewire products
  • Ensure team is aligned to company's strategic goals and contributes to IT department success
