The Senior Accountant will also assist in researching technical accounting issues related to business combinations (purchase accounting), foreign currency, international accounting consolidations, and revenue recognition.Expected ResultsObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure in accordance with US GAAPManage a variety of close tasks, helping ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearend closeAssist the treasury function with cash applications, payments, and banking operationsAssist payroll process and related journal entries including month-end payroll accrualsAssist in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and providing analysis around variances from budget/forecastResearch technical accounting issues that arise and draft related accounting memosWork cross functionally to improve accounting processes that affect the entire firmMaintain the fixed asset ledger (additions, disposals, transfers, etc.), including depreciation and tax reporting, ensuring accuracy of data according to US GAAPManage and maintain prepaids, including the monthly close schedulesPrepare account reconciliations across the balance sheet (cash, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, etc.)Demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation, and help design scalable, system-based solutions that replace spreadsheet-driven workflowsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting4+ years' professional experience as an accountant, preferably performing the month-end close processAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsAbility to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working both independently and within a teamExceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasksExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with clients on a regular basisProvide assistance with ad hoc financial tasks and special projects as requiredKnowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with compliance and internal controlsPreferred QualificationsCertified Public Accountant license strongly preferredProficiency with large ERP system (NetSuite a plus)
