Role Description

This is a full-time on-site assistant carpenter role. The Apprentice Carpenter will assist lead carpenter and master builder in high end residential construction. You will be responsible for a variety of carpentry-related tasks, including: using power and hand tools, rough and finish carpentry, the construction and assembly of concrete forms structural installations and repairs and new construction of modern houses.

All custom architectural work.

Qualifications

• Carpentry, Framing, and Finish Carpentry skills, some experience a plus
• Experience working with power tools and hand tools
• Knowledge and practice of safety procedures and operations related to a heavy construction environment
• Familiarity with blueprints and schematics a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills willingness and ability to follow detailed instructions written, oral and by diagram.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• College education preferred.
• Strong math and technical skills a must

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have working cell phone, valid driver's license and own transportation to work in Putnam Duchess and Columbia Counties
• Must have tools for higher paid carpentry positions.
• Must be in physical condition for outdoor work in construction environment.
• Must be able to read construction documents.
• Must be capable of executing tasks without supervision
• Must be legally employable to work in the US.
