And that's the kind of work we want to be part of.Manages the QC Microbiology team which is responsible for environmental monitoring (routine and production), utility monitoring, and microbiology testing such as gram stain. Responsible for oversight of the environmental monitoring (EM) program including establishment of sampling plans, routine trending, and excursion response procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines and Lonza policy.Responsibilities include:Supervising the Environmental Monitoring team.Acting as an advisor to subordinates when determining how to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.Reviewing testing and laboratory records for accuracy and compliance.Developing site Environmental and Utility monitoring programs and policies.Owning site environmental monitoring and utility trend program.Hosting monthly meetings to share trend information with the site Quality Council, and identifying and escalating adverse trends appropriately.Leading and coaching others to perform environmental excursion investigations.Ensuring corrective actions identified for investigations are implemented in a timely manner.Writing, reviewing, and/or approving SOPs, sampling plans, and protocols.Developing and maintaining a tool for monitoring QC resource capacity.Leading, mentoring, and coaching staff through routine one-on-one meetings, team meetings, and effective performance management.Setting and delivering on individual and team goals that support the department and site strategy.Taking personal accountability for both his/her own and the team's actions.Representing the QC-Environmental Monitoring department during internal and external audits.Preparing responses to audits, deviations, out of specification/lab investigations, customer complaints, and corrective/preventative actions.Preparing monthly management reports including budget analysis and project updates.Actively monitoring spending for the area, predicting and escalating potential spending variances.Identifying corrective actions for spending variances.Developing and monitoring team performance measures to understand effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of group performance.Able to identify and execute projects to increase the effectiveness of the team.Performing other duties as assigned.Every day, Lonza's products and services have a positive impact on millions of people.
