As a key member of our multidisciplinary product development and manufacturing team, the Senior Project Engineer will provide engineering support throughout the definition, design, development, and production transfer phases for a diverse range of medical devices. This role involves close collaboration with internal engineers, operations teams, and crucial client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical project activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.
  • Collaborate with clients, development teams, customer service, and operations on Product Development Sustaining and Continuation Projects.
  • Interface with vendors, domestic and international manufacturing facilities, and internal teams to resolve design and manufacturability challenges for new and existing products.
  • Assist in creating and communicating project schedules, plans, tasks, and deliverables, managing time to meet project deadlines.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives for existing products.
  • Support decision-making with comprehensive engineering analysis and data.
  • Review and select materials, finishes, and manufacturing methods for plastics, metals, and other components.
  • Work with clients and mechanical designers to specify and review mechanical drawings and assemblies for accuracy, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers and external suppliers to develop and assess part and product prototypes.
  • Partner with software engineers to implement software design updates based on user feedback and field performance data.
  • Conduct testing, analyze test data, and ensure designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Write, execute, and document design verification and validation tests under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
  • Perform additional duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience, ideally within the medical device industry.
  • Experience with customer facing activities and/or strong desire to be in front of clients
